General Information

  • The Day: Tuesday nights.
  • The Time: Arrive from 6:45 to 7:00pm and start at 7:00pm sharp, ending the study at 8:30pm. This time is flexible depending on what family and children’s schedules are like, but let’s start with this for now.
  • Timeframe: About 10 weeks.
  • Childcare: Provided.
  • The Study: As Christians, we believe that all sins are wrong in God’s eyes. Yet while evangelicals continue to decry the Big Ones—such as abortion, adultery, and violence—we often overlook more deceptive sins. It seems we have created a sliding scale where gossip, jealousy, and selfishness comfortably exist within the church. In short, some sins have simply become acceptable. Just as culture has lost the concept of sin, the church faces the same danger.  Join your friends and neighbors as we confront our “respectable sins” not from a sense of victory, but from the trenches of our own personal battles. If you long to thoughtfully examine your life and discover a deeper walk with God, this book is for you!
  • The Study Materials: Your Bible (any version), the book Respectable Sins, and its accompanying Discussion Guide (both by Jerry Bridges).
  • First Meeting: Tuesday, January 5.
  • Affiliation: Heritage Presbyterian Church (PCA).
